From the Principal

Welcome to Term 4
As I mentioned in my Term 4 address last week, it was a joy to welcome our girls back from their holiday break. With the commencement of the HSC examinations and the forthcoming IB examinations, we encourage our students to remain focussed and persistent in these final weeks and where possible balance study efforts with some exercise and sunshine. This can be a taxing time and we are very proud of this cohort of young women and we’re with them all the way!
This term sees our Year 6’s complete their final term of Junior School before they graduate to become members of our Senior School community. Our Year 6 Graduation Dinner scheduled for November 15 celebrates their rite of passage and we very much look forward to this event. Also please place 28 November in your calendar for the annual Nine Lessons and Carols Service at St Andrews Cathedral, and Speech Day on 7 December at The State Theatre. More information will be provided closer to the dates in the events section of the Whole Girl.
We continue to pause to reflect on the impact the Israel - Hamas conflict is having on many in our community. We know members of our staff and our girls have close and personal connections, families and friends who are suffering. Over the past 10 days I have met with students and adults who feel vulnerable and scared. Some who have been directly impacted. None of us are immune to the atrocities taking place and we are all affected by the resulting trauma. We are ensuring that we are paying close attention to our girls. In accordance with best practice, we will maintain the safety and predictability of the typical school routine and structure and will respond to student distress on a case-by -case basis.
As a community, we stand together. As previously communicated, should you have any concerns about your daughter’s wellbeing please reach out and let us know. Whether through your classroom teacher, Head of Year or our counselling team, we are here to offer our support and care.
As a school we nurture connection, inclusion and belonging and we are driven by moral purpose. Our community is our strength, particularly in times of need. We are a safe environment where we unconditionally support our girls, support our families and support our staff.
