Worship Together 2023

Rev. Dr Michael Battersby | Director - Kings Worship Academy

“There is nothing like the presence of God…because there is no one like Him.”

On Monday night, 28 August, the King’s Chapel auditorium was filled with the light of candles and fervent hearts crying, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord”.

Kings Worship Academy has become a beacon of encouragement and hothouse for emerging ministries, and it hosted this unplugged night of worship and devotion where around 200 worshippers from teams across our city enjoyed Monday night Church at its finest.

Ps Michael Battersby and some of our awesome music staff at the College (Mr Justin Gimm and Mr Paul Kennedy) led a series of classic old worship songs that focused on the Holiness of God. Each song was led by KWA alums, wonderful worship leaders, and friends from churches of all sizes. In a world that often forgets where purity, life, freedom and peace come from – we turned to the Lord, aided by a beautiful wooden cross affixed firmly in the centre of the building, as we all surrounded it in one mass circle of solidarity and reverence.

We shared communion, and had an awesome fellowship supper at the end (thanks to Yvonne, Tammy, Nicky, Sarah, Simone, Mitch, Damian and Linda). The night even raised money to sponsor dozens of children at Transform Cambodia to learn musical instruments and start developing their worship programs over in Phnom Penh.

Perth wants more of this, and so many people commented on the passion and hunger shown by our College students who were involved.  Until the next KWA event – Keep looking up!
