Mrs Lizelle Kriek | Year 3 Teacher
Our Year 1s and Year 3s students visited SciTech and attended various science interactive activities and presentations like the Power Trip Show.'In the planetarium, students watched the Tilt show and learned how the Earth's tilt is responsible for the different seasons. Students also had the opportunity to become engineers for the day as they participated in the Rio Tinto Tinkering Workshop, designing crew capsules for a spaceship and testing their prototypes.
Our Primary students ran Chapel in conjunction with RUOK Day. The Auditorium was a sea of yellow, with students and staff dressing up in yellow accessories to brighten the day! Our student leaders encouraged us with simple steps on how to be a good friend and asked, "Are you OK?". They also reminded us that we can always go to God in prayer, as the bible tells us to cast our fears and anxiety on Jesus because He cares for us.
"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."1 Peter 5:7
In celebration of Father's Day, our Kindergarten students and teachers invited dads, grandads, and uncles to an afterschool BBQ. We had a wonderful turnout, and family members had personal tours of their classrooms and participated in completing some fun activities together. It was also an opportunity for Dad to meet and fellowship with other dads in the group.
We were so encouraged by all the students who dressed up as a "Hero" book character for the Book Week Parade. Teachers also ran various fun and creative activities in their classes during the week to inspire our students with a love of reading.
Another year, another heartwarming" DUGS" (Dads, Uncles, Granddads) Reading Challenge for Book Week. Thank you to the thirty 'DUGS who participated in the day; we hope you enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed having you!
Mrs Sumita Quinn | Assistant Head of Primary - Curriculum
The amazing Year 5s have begun their Garden Gnome training after their incursion from Bunnings. Thank you to Bunnings, who kindly donated a worm farm and compost bin to the College.
We need donations of bottles (like empty clean milk cartons or Juice bottles) to collect the worm wee (fabulous fertiliser), and containers (Preferably 1 OR 2 litres with handles) to collect the fruit scraps, please. The fruit scraps containers need to have a handle. Any donations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Congratulations to Booth, the overall House Winner for 2023!
Congratulations to our students for their exceptional performances!
