Oatlands Masterchef

On the 16th of August all of 6DO had a cooking competition called Master Chef, Nik from 6DO made a Vietnamese caramelized pork mince with a side of lush neon bok choy drizzled with garlic sauce. Bailey from 6DO made gooey fudge brownies with a Nutella spread and finely cut strawberries on the side. We both competed with all of the 6DO.

The next week the results of Master Chef came out and we ended up winning. Which meant we went on to cook with all the other grade 6 Master Chef winners in the other grades.

We had to choose a different main and dessert but there was a twist, the main had to be 100% vegetarian and the dessert had to contain chocolate and strawberries. So for the main we made a sticky garlic tofu served with a side of egg noodles and veggies. For dessert we made a chocolate mousse in chocolate moulded bowls served with strawberry and dark chocolate shards.

Overall everyone did really well. It was really tough and all of the dishes looked flawless. But in the end Nik and Bailey ended up winning the whole competition. The day was really fun for those grade sixes.

Our experience was incredible. We all wish we could do it again.
