Prayer

"Listen to what the Spirit is saying."

Acknowledgment of Country

We turn our hearts and minds to the people of the Yorta Yorta nation, who have occupied this country for thousands of years.

We pay respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging, and commit to walking alongside Aboriginal Australians in truth and justice.

St Luke’s Feast Day

Wednesday 18th October

On Wednesday morning we gathered as a school community to celebrate the

Feast of St Luke, the patron saint of our parish school.

Father Joe led our whole school Mass where we listened to the readings and heard Jesus challenging us to be servants to others.  We must be witnesses to Jesus and use our many gifts and talents to help others. It is through our reflection, learning and celebrating together that we become closer to each other and closer to our God.

It was a wonderful celebration and an opportunity for us to stop and reflect on the history of  St Luke and our school's journey to its name.

A big thank you to Father Joe for leading us in Mass, teachers for preparing the children so well and a big shout to Ms Walker, Mrs Liddell and our beautiful choir who did an amazing job at leading us in song!

Today we ended our Feast day celebrations by coming together as a school community to enjoy an afternoon of BlueEarth fun and games in the beautiful sunshine!

2023 Sacramental Children Celebration

Last weekend our second group of Sacramental students received the Holy Spirit through the Sacrament of Confirmation, and for the first time, they received the Body of Christ in the Eucharist. We congratulate all the students, their families and sponsors.

A huge thank you to you the parents, our school staff, Fr Joe, Laura O'Sullivan and Jess Doyle for preparing our children so well. We look forward to our special celebration on Wednesday!

October Month of the Rosary

The month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary. “The Rosary is the most beautiful and the richest in graces of all prayers, it is the prayer that touches most the Heart of the Mother of God.”Pope Saint Pius X

A reading from the holy gospel according to Matthew 22:15-21

The Pharisees got together and planned how they could trick Jesus into saying something wrong. They sent some of their followers and some of Herod's followers to say to him,"Teacher, we know that you are honest. You teach the truth about what God wants people to do. And you treat everyone with the same respect, no matter who they are.

Tell us what you think!

Should we pay taxes to the Emperor or not? "Jesus knew their evil thoughts and said,"Why are you trying to test me? You show-offs! Let me see one of the coins used for paying taxes."They brought him a silver coin, and he asked,"Whose picture and name are on it?"

"The Emperor's," they answered. Then Jesus told them,"Give the Emperor what belongs to him and give God what belongs to God."

The Gospel of the Lord.

Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Gospel wonderings

What would Jesus do?

Have you ever been tricked into saying or doing something that got you into trouble by someone you thought was your friend? How did that feel?

Before making a decision or if faced with a tough situation, do you ask yourself, 'How would Jesus respond?'
