DIVISIONAL ATHLETICS
On Wednesday 4th October, 30 students from Year 3 – 6 competed at the Divisional Athletics. In wintery conditions, the students were great ambassadors for our school. For many of the younger students, this was their first time competing at this level. All competing students should be extremely proud of their performances.
Students and relay teams that placed first or second then qualified for the Regional competition.

Placing 1st or 2nd at the Divisional competition, 22 athletics competed at the Regionals on Wednesday. Competing against students from over 360 schools, this is an extremely high level of competition. All of our students performed to the best of their ability on the day, with some students achieving personal bests (PB'S). I have been extremely proud of their enthusiasm and commitment throughout the 3 carnivals (District, Division and Regionals).
Special thank you to Jaxson K who did a great job filling in for the 10 Years Boys relay team. And of course, a very supportive group of parents who transported their child/ren and were very proud of their efforts.

YEAR 6 BOYS DIVISIONAL BASKETBALL
After winning the Murdoch District Basketball competition last term, on Tuesday the Year 6 Boys competed at the Divisional finals. Their first game was against Flinders Christian College. The first 10 minutes of the first half was quite a close encounter, but the boys' composure, teamwork and skills came through for the remainder of the game, with Langy Park winning 36 - 14.
Their second game was against St Augustine Primary School, which had narrowly lost to Flinders in their first game. Playing sport, it is important for competitors to remember that every game is different, so even though Langy Park had beaten Flinders, the boys knew they had to be at their best. There was barely a score for either team and even though Langy Park had the majority of the play, the shots just wouldn't fall into the basket. Once the boys scored a few goals, they found their "mojo" and ended up winning the game 45 - 24.
The boys have now qualified for the Regional finals which will be played on Thursday 2nd November.
Congratulations to the following boys and wishing them all the best at Regionals:
6/9 - Mitch S, Tahj W, Hamish C, Lincoln T, Chad L
6/10 - Benny B
6/11 - Jack T
6/12 - Ollie A
It was wonderful to have so many parents supporting and encouraging the boys.
Big thank you to Mr Hannah who has been coaching the team during lunchtimes and Mandy S and Alicia C who assisted with coaching and scoring.
