In the Classroom

& out and about!

Foundation 2 - Little Learners Love Literacy heads into the yard!

This morning during Little Learners Love Literacy after reading 'Inspect an Insect' Foundation 2 wondered what it might be like to explore insects outside.  They borrowed some magnifying glasses from the Library and went to investigate! Full of curiosity and excitement they soon discovered a myriad of little mini beasts in our beautiful gardens. They were able to safely take a look through their magnifying glasses.  We love it when the children take their own learning to a new level! Well done Foundation 2 what fun.

Year 1 - Zoo Excursion

On Thursday the Year 1s enjoyed the beautiful weather at the zoo. We saw lemurs, a gorilla, a sun baking hippo, elephants, a variety of monkeys, orangutans, giraffes, lions, dingos, a snow leopard, a few penguins and seals. One of the cheeky seals had the students in fits of laughter chasing their hats on the glass wanting to eat them!

This visit will act as inspiration for our upcoming writing unit on Information Reports. We can’t wait to get started!

Year 5 & 6 - Footsteps Dance

Our Year 5 & 6 students have commenced a weekly lesson with Footsteps Dance.  This will continue throughout the Term culminating in a special performance.  Footsteps specialise in curriculum integrated school dance programs. Their programs use dance as a vehicle to develop students’ inter/intra personal skills, fitness levels and provide teachers with classroom resources that use dance as a starting point to help teachers educate across other curriculum areas.  The students are already having a lot of fun stepping out of their comfort zones to develop skills.
