From the Principal

I would like to commend all students on the way they have begun Term 4. I speak a lot around having the highest expectations in and beyond the classroom. Each week our grade level teams spend a considerable amount of time planning the curriculum together. They take a very data centred approach to their planning, to ensure that the individual needs of students are met. They closely monitor student progress on a daily basis and this is then brought to their weekly planning meetings. We deeply appreciate the level of support you provide your child/ren and ask this to be continued as we move deeper into Term 4.

Upcoming Curriculum Day (Student Free)

Please be aware that on Friday 3rd November there will be a student free day. On this day teachers will be preparing their Semester 2 reports.

Camp Australia will be providing care on this day if it is required. Just contact them directly if you require a booking.

Day before Melbourne Cup Day (Monday 6th November)

I just want to provide advanced notice that the day before Melbourne Cup Day, it will be a normal school day, however with a modified program. A number of staff who have attended school camps this year will be acquitting a day of Time In Lieu, so will not be onsite. Appropriate supervision arrangements will be made for all students on this day.

School Hats

Please make sure that your child comes to school each day with their school hat. It is important that they when they are outside, their hat is being worn.

Keeping it Positive

I will keep reiterating my message over the coming weeks regarding the importance of remaining positive and continuing to support your child with a positive mindset. This is closely linked with our school value of Resilience and you play such an important role in the development of your child's resilience. Just asking simple questions like, 'What was the highlight of your day' or 'One thing you did really well today', works directly in this space.

I hope everyone has a very happy and relaxing weekend!

Cheers

Richard
