Principal's Page

Dear Families,

We keep in our thoughts and prayers the people of Israel and Palestine. With the unsettling events unfolding around Gaza and the Middle East, please be mindful of what your children may be taking in from news programs. If you require further assistance or resources to support discussions, please let me know.

St Joseph's Award

Congratulations to Annika and Olivia for receiving the St Joseph's Awards at last week's assembly. This is a new award we have introduced to acknowledge students who consistently demonstrate our school values and behaviour expectations of being respectful, being safe and being a learner.

Welcome

A warm welcome to Bella and her family and Evie and her family to St Joseph's School community. Both girls began on Monday and are in Year Four. We hope their time with us is positive and rewarding.

Beach STEAM Program

All students in Prep - Year Two will participate in a Beach STEAM Program this term. Students will explore the natural surroundings and investigate sustainable solutions for their environment.

The Wall Update

I am pleased to let the community know that the wall project has finally gone to tender  and will hopefully commence before the end of this term. It has been a complex and challenging situation that once completed, will be a wonderful asset to the school.

Master Plan

CotterReid Architects have been creating a Master Plan  for St Joseph's over the past ten months. They have met with staff, a student group and representatives from our families. The first stages will be updating our student amenities and constructing a large multi-purpose area to be used for Performing Arts, assemblies and other whole school and community events. We have the Master Plan displayed for those interested on the curved wall, near the entrance. Please pop in to view the plans and leave a comment on the poster beside it.

School Uniform - Hats

Hats are a part of our summer school uniform. Students are required to wear them outside. As a part of our Sun Smart Policy, students will need to sit in the shade if they do not have a hat.

PSGs

Parent Support Group Meetings are held each term for parents, teacher and our Learning Diversity Leader to discuss students' Adjusted Learning Plans and Personalised Learning Plans. These will take place in Week Five this term and parents will be notified through an Operoo. If you would like more information or have any questions regarding your child's learning at school, please contact your child's teachers to organise a meeting.

Have a great week,
