New Seminarian in Residence
Each year the College liaises with the Seminary of the Good Shepherd to offer a Seminarian in Residence placement for the calendar year. Our new Seminarian for 2025 will commence this coming Friday, 24 February.
His name is Raman Isaac and he is a 23 year old seminarian studying for the Chaldean Catholic Eparchy (an Eastern Catholic Church). He lives at the Good Shepherd Seminary in Homebush but grew up in south-west Sydney. Raman studied Computer Science at the University of New South Wales before entering the seminary.
He loves sports such as soccer, tennis and basketball. His hobbies include reading, training at the gym and golfing.
“I believe in life we are all created by God with a purpose and I am convinced that mine is to serve Him and His Church as a priest. I look forward to spending time with you all and sharing my faith, in the hope that this will allow you to be drawn closer to our Blessed Lord.” (Raman)
Raman has already demonstrated his compassion and love in meeting with him. He will bring a beautiful and faith-filled presence to the College this year. Please make him welcome if you see him around.
Seeking Housing for Two Seminarians
We have been asked by local faith leaders to see if we can find housing for two seminarians in their sixth year of academic study leading to Ordination into priesthood. They will be studying at the Good Shepherd Seminary in Homebush thus we seek housing in the area or somewhere with good public transport to Strathfield Station.
It is hoped to find TWO homes to take in one seminarian each. You may have an available granny flat or a room in your home that you would be comfortable letting out or embracing someone in need into your family. Both would pay market value board for the week and may need to stay for the remainder of this year. However, other housing may come up in the meantime thus shortening their stay.
Both gentlemen are in their later thirties and both from Vietnam, needing to practice their English over the year. All appropriate checks will be done to ensure a positive experience for all. This is a difficult situation for the men as we aim to help find them accommodation.
If you would like to ask any questions or offer one of the men a place to stay, or you may know someone else who can, please contact me as soon as possible on
Thank you for your consideration.
