House Swimming Carnival
The 81st Annual Secondary House and Age Swimming Championships took place last Thursday at the Sydney Aquatic Centre. It was a fantastic day, with school spirit at an all-time high. Both staff and students worked together seamlessly, creating an atmosphere of excitement and camaraderie that made the event a memorable success. It was great to see students of all ages and swimming ability challenging themselves in a variety of ways from the Novelty Events, House Events, our stronger swimmers going head-to-head in Championship Events and of course the battle for points in the stands. Multiple times throughout the day, staff members from the Aquatic Centre made mention of how impressed they were by the cheering from the grandstands. I must also take this time to thank all the student helpers on the day for playing such a significant role in the smooth running of the carnival.
It was a very well contested day with Hickey taking out the House Championship as seen below.
POSITION | HOUSE | POINTS |
1st | Hickey | 794 |
2nd | Coghlan | 782 |
3rd | Rice | 758 |
4th | Berg | 644 |

6th | Crichton | 328 |
Congratulations to all the Age Champions, especially Jack Taylor who broke two of his own Open Age records. Unfortunately, Jack and the student team were disqualified from the Staff Vs. Student Relay, as Jack replaced the Coghlan House Prefect despite being a member of the Rice House. Therefore, congratulations to the Staff team for another historic win.

Touch Football
Thank you to parents/carers and players of our Senior A Touch Football team who travelled to Bathurst to take on Scots All Saints. It was a great effort from our students who came away with a very entertaining 9-3 win. You are to be commended for your sportsmanship, teamwork, and commitment. Well done!
Rugby in 2025
After years of discussion and negotiation, we are pleased to announce that the 2025 Rugby season will have a change in structure. This is a significant step in working with other Heads of Sports and College Principals across the ISA association and CAS (Combined Associated Schools) to provide a Rugby season with more opportunities and a meaningful season.
In a format under a probationary period, our season will begin with the Annual Black and Green Shield against neighbouring rivals - Trinity Grammar on Saturday 5 April in Term 1. In Term 2, the ISA competition round games will begin and continue for the remainder of Term 2.
In the first three weeks of Term 3, depending on where we finish based on a school’s championship calculations, we will play teams from the CAS competition to provide an overall winner across both associations - as explained in the accompanying statement.
The season will conclude with, for the first time ever in ISA Division Rugby, semifinals and then an ISA Grand Final Day.
Please note that the draft draw has our first ISA fixture as an away game against Kinross Wolaroi in Orange on Saturday 3 May. Transport for students will be arranged in the coming weeks.
I am looking forward to a very exciting Rugby season with plenty of opportunities.
Please see below a message from the St Patrick’s Junior Rugby Club.
