School Speed Zones
School speed zones are in place to keep children safe when they are travelling to and from school.
Please remain vigilant around school buses, slow down for children crossing the road, and obey the school speed zone limits.
Speed limits are reduced to 40km per hour from 8-9.30am and from 2.30-4pm.
Safer Internet Day
Raising Awareness and Fostering Ongoing Conversations About Online Safety
Safer Internet Day, held annually on 11 February, is a global initiative dedicated to promoting safer and more responsible use of technology, particularly among children and young people. The theme for 2025 is "Together for a better internet," highlighting the collective responsibility we all share in creating positive online experiences.
In today’s world, the internet is a constant presence in our lives – whether we are working, learning, playing, or socialising. While it offers endless opportunities, it also presents risks, especially for young people who may not fully understand the potential dangers online.
Safer Internet Day serves as an important reminder to raise awareness about online safety and encourage responsible digital behaviour. We urge all families to have ongoing conversations about internet safety and monitor their children's online activities. These discussions are vital in helping children make informed decisions about their digital lives.
Key Areas of Focus:
- Online Safety Education: Encouraging critical thinking about what’s safe and responsible online.
- Cyberbullying Prevention: Promoting empathy, respect, and kindness in all digital interactions.
- Data Privacy Awareness: Teaching how to protect personal information and maintain privacy online.
By fostering these conversations, we empower children to navigate the digital world safely, protect their privacy, and respect others online. Safer Internet Day is an ideal time to emphasise these values, but it’s important that these discussions continue throughout the year.

Parents and carers of students in Years 5-12 are invited to attend the Digital Tattoo Parent/Carer Workshop, led by Leigh Barlett from Barwon Adolescent Task Force (batforce). As digital interactions become an essential part of young people’s lives, this workshop will equip parents with the tools to help their children develop healthy online habits and set appropriate boundaries.
For parents of Year 5 & 6 students, this session is especially important, as it provides key strategies for guiding children as they begin engaging with digital platforms. It’s a perfect opportunity to help your child develop a positive and responsible digital presence from the start.
