Grade 3-6:

Welcome back to Waverley Meadows for

the 2025 School Year:

All three of the classes in the Senior Module have had an amazing start to the 2025 school year and are so excited to be back at school. It was lovely being able to hear all the school holiday stories from the students during the first few days back at school. It has been great to see students so happy to see both their teachers and friends back at school.

Grade 5/6A:

Mr Elliott's Grade 5 and Grade 6 students have had an excellent start to the school year and it has been great to see the Year 6 students take charge in their leadership roles. Kilometre club is back and bigger than ever this year and the Friday Weekly 3:00pm assemblies are back in the Multi-Purpose Room every week.

Grade 4/5A:

Mr Williamson's Grade 4 and Grade 5 students have had an amazing start to the school year and have been really enjoying the new routine in the classroom. Grade 4/5A students have been able to demonstrate excellent leadership and teamwork skills in every activity they participate in. Mr Williamson's students have also been super excited as they are fortunate enough to have 3 small fish as a part of their class pet for the school year.

Grade 3/4A:

Mr Noordhoff's Grade 3 and Grade 4 students have had a great start to the school year and it has been so nice seeing this group of students work so well together. The Grade 3 students have thoroughly enjoyed being in the senior module and are getting along very nicely with all the other students. Mr Noordhoff's students have again this year enjoyed the luxury of having two blue tongue lizards as their class pet for the school year.

Reading/Writing:

Grade 3/4A and Grade 4/5A have begun studying the book "Matilda" which is written by Roald Dahl. Both classes have been really enjoying studying this book as they are enjoying reading both independently and as a whole class. The feedback already from the students has been very positive and the students look forward to Reading lessons each day as they are able to study and read this book.

The Grade 5/6A class has begun studying the book "War Horse" which is written by Michael Morpurgo. The Grade 5 and Grade 6 students have enjoyed the genre of this book and how it is quite different to any other book that they have read so far. Students are enjoying learning all about the characters and the themes within the novel.

Maths:

Students in the Senior Module have completed studying the topic of "Graphing" and are now learning all about "Place Value". Students are participating in a wide range of activities and tasks in order to help improve their knowledge of mathematical questions/equations with the use of Place Value.

Inquisitive Minds:

Grade 3/4 and Grade 5/6 students have been learning all about the States and Territories of Australia. Students have been able to refresh their memory on this knowledge and begin learning all about how Australia has changed over the years. The conversations during Inquisitive Minds have been amazing and it has been really lovely being able to see the students so excited to learn about the country they live in.
