Update from Support

During Term 1, students across the Support Unit have engaged in a variety of community access programs designed to enhance their social skills and foster independence. This term, students have actively participated in engaging activities that promote connection and provide valuable real-world experiences.
Our students have embraced independent travel by using public transport to visit Oliver Brown, where they have developed essential travel skills while building social skills, confidence and friendships. Additionally, some students have enhanced their independence through a shopping trip to Aldi, where they purchased cooking items for their TAS (Technology and Applied Studies) project.
We are also excited to share that 15 of our students are participating in NAPLAN this term, which is an important milestone in their educational journey.
A special highlight of the term was the visit from our new therapy dog, Jelly Bean (JB), which was a resounding success. The presence of JB provided our students with comfort and joy, further enriching their learning experience.
We look forward to continuing these enriching programs and celebrating the achievements of our students in the coming weeks
