Swimming

With our first carnival done and dusted, it was an awesome turn out this year with many of our students getting in the spirit of swimming and being involved in our novelty races. The weather started off slow but by the end of the day, it was perfect conditions to be in the water and amongst the fun filled activities.

We had our largest numbers attend the Macarthur Zone carnival this year, which was an amazing achievement. To top it off, we had attained our first ‘Age Champion’ in the pool. A huge congratulations to Luhua Tan for participating and achieving this result.

Tuesday sport

We are well underway for this term's sport on a Tuesday. It is great to see students challenging themselves and picking a competitive option. It would be great to see more students as the year goes on, pushing their limits and trying new sports they would not normally do. We will be approaching finals in the coming weeks in our competition and awarding our winners and grinners.

Stage 4 Soccer group has been lucky to have two coaches from Football NSW who are coming out for an hour each week to teach us the skills so our competition is competitive and fun. So far it has been enjoyable and the students are engaged for the duration of time.

A reminder to all students that each week in competitive sports, teachers will be awarding MVP points to 3 students who deserve the nominations. These points are collated over the term and will be recognised at the end of the year for their achievement. Students will be selecting their Term 2 sports in the coming weeks before the end of term. Check the Google Classroom for the form to fill out. Only select the grade you are in currently.

Knockout and trial sports

The Open Boys Basketball team kicked off the first of the knockout draws. The competition was held at Oran Park Sports Centre this year and boys played extremely well against some tough schools but unfortunately went down in both games. Well done to the boys in representing T-RED and thank you to Ms Jones for taking the boys and experiencing a new sport this year. We all appreciate you for your time and dedication to the team and getting them there on the day.
