Supporting Student Wellbeing and Learning

Our Student Support Officer Chloe (SSO) plays an essential role at our school in fostering student learning and wellbeing. Chloe works closely with the Wellbeing Team and School Counselling Service, collaborating with external agencies to ensure students and families have access to necessary support services.
What's been happening this term?
Peer Support Program
This term, our Year 7 and Year 10 students have been engaging in a Peer Support Program, where Year 10 students facilitate weekly team-building activities. This student-led initiative is research-backed and endorsed by state education departments, helping to support students' mental health and wellbeing.
Breakfast Club & Lunch Support
Breakfast Club continues each morning, offering students a selection of toast, cereal, fruit, and juices. Additionally, The Salvation Army is providing sandwich lunch packs, ensuring students have access to nutritious meals during the school day.
Australian Dental Foundation Visit
We were excited to welcome the Australian Dental Foundation back to our school from March 24 for two weeks. Students received onsite dental treatment at no out-of-pocket expense.
New Counselling Support – Street University
We are pleased to announce our new partnership with Street University, which will provide additional counselling support for students every Thursday. This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance student wellbeing and mental health services within our school community.
Community Partnerships & Ongoing Support
Our SSO will continue to work closely with Uniting, Mission Australia, Big Yellow Umbrella, Youth Solutions, Legal Aid, Headspace, Traxside Youth Health Service, and many more to support our school community. These partnerships ensure students and families have access to a wide range of services and resources.
Our SSO looks forward to working alongside students and families throughout the term to promote a positive and supportive learning environment. If you require further support or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
