An update from our Year Advisers

A Fantastic Start for Year 7!
It has been an exciting and rewarding start to the school year for our Year 7 students. They kicked off their high school journey at Cataract Scouts Activity Centre, where they participated in team-building exercises and faced the famous “Challenge Valley” – a 1.5km obstacle course which involved climbing over walls, crawling through tunnels and getting absolutely covered in mud during the process! While this was an incredibly fun day out for staff and students, it was also an opportunity to build resilience, develop teamwork skills, and grow solidarity amongst our new cohort.
In addition to the camp, our Year 7 families have had the opportunity to attend the ‘Meet the Teacher’ BBQ, where they were given an update on how their students are settling in and to connect as a community. It was wonderful to see students and teachers engaging in relaxed conversations, forging strong relationships that will help set a positive tone for the rest of the year.
The combination of these experiences has provided our Year 7 cohort with a strong foundation for their academic, social, and personal growth throughout the school year.
We are excited to watch them Thrive, Represent, Excel and Deliver. Go T-RED!
Exciting Times Ahead for Year 8!
As we dive into another busy start of the year, our Year 8 students continue to impress with their enthusiasm and hard work. Whether it’s in the classroom, on the sports field, or during extracurricular activities, there’s always something exciting happening at T-RED.
Thrive: Year 8 are continuing to set a great example at the school for their uniform! Remember as the weather cools down to wear school uniform jumpers (maroon). If you need any support with uniform please talk to your Year Advisor.
Represent: Our students consistently demonstrate kindness and consideration toward their peers, teachers, and school community. This was clear to see during our celebration of International Women’s Day. It was great to see many of our Year 8 students participating in lunch time activities and having valuable conversations in class.
Excel: It’s assessment time! Many school subjects have assessments due around weeks 8-11. Ensure you check tasks carefully and talk to your class teachers if you have any questions about the work.
Deliver: Year 8 have been actively ‘delivering’ our school culture and community at T-RED this term, participating in our school Swimming Carnival and some students even making it to zone. Keep up the good work!
Events for Year 8 during Term 1
- ‘We are Gibber’: An alcohol education program ran Wednesday Week 8 for our Year 8 and 9 students.
- Dentist Visits: The dentist visited T-RED again in Weeks 9 and 10.
- End of Term excursion: happened in Week 11.
We’re looking forward to seeing the amazing things Year 8 will continue to accomplish this term. Keep up the excellent work, and remember to stay kind, and always strive to do your best! T-what? T-RED!
Our Year 9 students have made a positive start to the year. They have been engaged in classroom activities and have shown commitment in their lessons.
We are pleased to announce that Giovanni Famularo has been elected as the Junior House Captain for Ella. We are confident that Giovanni will lead with enthusiasm, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility.
In addition, we are proud to have four exceptional students representing Year 9 on the Student Representative Council (SRC): Ruby Greaves, Giovanni Famularo, Lilith McInney, and Jamie Lee Sullivan. Their involvement will provide them with valuable opportunities to develop leadership skills while making meaningful contributions to the school community.
Lastly, all Year 9 students should have received a copy of the Assessment Booklet. This important document outlines Assessment Tasks for each subject. Students are encouraged to refer to the booklet regularly, stay on top of upcoming due dates, and familiarise themselves with the assessment procedures.
We look forward to another successful term of learning and growth!
Dear Year 10 students and families,
I am pleased to inform you that our wonderful year group will be represented by Layla Chan Sau, Logan Davis, Carter Esera, and Lorelai Osmond in the SRC. There’s plenty happening this term, with many opportunities to get involved and be part of T-RED culture, from knockout sports to NASCA and OHANA.
I would like to acknowledge Harmoni Mohi, Angel Gangas Proenza, and Michael Quintana for accumulating the highest number of positive entries so far this year, and Carter Esera for maintaining 100% attendance since the beginning of the term.
We have had the Barefoot Bowling reward excursion at the end of Term 1, so please keep striving for success in every aspect of your schooling life.
As Year 11 settles into their senior year, it’s been wonderful to see them stepping up to new challenges and embracing the responsibilities that come with being senior students.
A huge congratulations to Katana Couchman, Vanessa Colpo, Kayden Coggins and Kingston Vaaulu for being elected into the Student Representative Council (SRC)—a fantastic achievement that reflects their leadership, dedication, and commitment to making a difference in our school community.
Another exciting milestone for Year 11 is designing their senior jackets, a tradition that symbolises their unity and journey together. We encourage all students to get involved in the design process and create something that truly represents their cohort. It's shaping up to be a great year, and we can’t wait to see what this group achieves!
After two VERY successful fundraisers at Christmas and the Swimming Carnival, our amazing year group is on its way to funding some exciting aspects of senior life including end of year celebrations. They have organised and booked their formal and designed, ordered, purchased and received their jackets which they wear daily with pride.
It's quite sad to think that there are only two full terms of school left. I remember meeting Year 12 waaaaay back in 2020 when they were sitting in the hall, crying to their parents about their nerves for the upcoming journey ahead.
Year 12 continue to surprise me every day by their resilience and determination to be the best versions on themselves and it's incredible to see them becoming young adults.
We have some great plans for the remainder of the year - keep a look out for some more fundraisers and be sure to grab a Bunnings sausage next term! (Date is To be Advised but we will let you know when we know!)
