From The Principal

Stephen Arthurson

IDear Families,

Thank you for your support across a very busy term. As we head into this break, we do so knowing that the school holidays will conclude with the recognition of Holy Week. Holy Week is the most significant time in the Church’s calendar, a time when we remember not only the sacrifice and suffering of Jesus Christ here on Earth, but more importantly his resurrection and the fulfilment of God’s promise to humanity.

This week, students from different year levels recreated the events of Holy Week in a most prayerful and reverent manner. Photos from these sessions can be found elsewhere in this newsletter. We thank the students and their teachers for the effort put into creating these engaging prayer experiences. The Preps will celebrate Jesus’ resurrection in the first week of Term Two.

We invite you to engage with your family in prayer during this Easter season. One of the ways you can do this is by praying the Stations of the Cross. This clip from 2024 by Archbishop Peter Comensoli gives us an insight into this important form of prayer. Below, you will find a series of prayers based on the 14 Stations that you may wish to use as an individual or with your family over the Easter season.

On behalf of everyone at St Anne’s, we wish you a restful Easter break. For those travelling, please do so safely. We will see you all back at school on Tuesday 22nd April (noting that Friday 25th April is ANZAC Day, and thus our first week is 3 days in length).

On Friday 25th April we will commerate ANZAC Day by joining the march, service and wreath laying in Sunbury.  If you would like your child to attend on behalf of the school we will be meeting (in full school uniform)  at 9.45am outside of Sunbury Post Office. All are welcome.

Warm regards and God’s Blessings,

Stephen
