News from our Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to Term 2. It is hard to believe that winter is just around the corner with some delightful warm weather still hanging around! I always enjoy reconnecting with the students after a break as they share the stories of their holidays with such joy and enthusiasm. It also gives me the opportunity to remind them how loved and lucky they are.
The Easter season is a time for celebration in our Church. It continues for 50 days and concludes with the ascension of Jesus into heaven and finally with the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Let us continue to be Easter people and may this Easter season be an opportunity to open our hearts up to the Kingdom of God, a Kingdom of love, peace and hope.
Let us also keep in our prayers Pope Francis who recently passed away. We also pray for the recent appointment of our newly elected leader of the Catholic Church - Pope Leo XIV (previously Cardinal Robert Prevost). We ask the Holy Spirit to guide and inspire our new Pope in his ministry and special work as the leader of the Catholic Church across the world.
God of love and justice,
We remember Pope Francis with grateful hearts.
He showed us what it means to live the Gospel –
not just in words, but in action.
As we pray for him, we give thanks for his life, his leadership, and his love.
May his example inspire us to be people of courage, compassion, and hope.
May his spirit live on in our new pope and continue to guide and inspire our Catholic Church.
Amen
Term 2 is a busy term where we can deepen the relationships and foundations set in place with the students throughout Term 1. The foundations and building blocks of learning have been laid and during this term we really enter the “learning pit“ - moving from surface learning to some deeper learning with the students! I know the teachers have worked hard at preparing some quality and authentic learning experiences for your children to engage and challenge them this term.
Finally, I wish all mothers and special women in our lives a very happy Mother’s Day on Sunday. May your day be filled with love, kindness and joy!
Heavenly Father,
We thank you for our mothers and the many special women around the world.
We thank you for the care they give others and their children.
We offer our support and prayers for their lives to be blessed and for families to flourish.
May we continue to be blessed with God’s ways and love throughout our lives.
Amen
