French News

Bonjour Parents and Students!

Just like that, we’ve reached the final week of Term 1 at Tarneit Rise Primary School!

Our students continue to make great progress, showing enthusiasm as they learn, practice, and explore more French.

•    Prep and Grade 1 were assessed on their French knowledge over the past two weeks, and we were thrilled to see their growth!

•    Grade 2 expanded their vocabulary with emotion words and wrote sentences to express their feelings in both French and English. They also learned to name different shapes in French.

•    Grade 3 read The Very Hungry Caterpillar in French, successfully identifying the days of the week and various food items using their prior knowledge. They even wrote complete sentences in French to retell the story!

•    Grade 4 explored imperative verbs, discovering how they are used to give instructions, orders, and commands. They watched a video on how to make Crème Brûlée and identified all the imperative verbs in the recipe steps.

•    Grades 5 and 6 wrapped up the term with engaging activities. They learned about traditional French three-course meals and practiced restaurant dialogues through role-play. To review the term’s content, they also had fun playing quiz games.

It has been a fantastic term, and we are so proud of our students’ achievements in French. We look forward to more learning adventures next term!
