Hi Tarneit Rise families,

Last week Prep students practised drama by acting as different animals and characters. Students continued to explore showing different emotions while acting. They performed a narrated story in groups to the class. This week Prep students are reflecting on what they have learnt in Performing Arts this term and discussing their favourite part of Performing Arts.

In Grade 1 students created a whole class dance choreography to I’m a Believer by Smash Mouth by thinking about the emotions the music made them feel and dance moves that match that emotion. They also practised dancing in time with a 4/4 beat. This week grade 1 students are reflecting on what they have learned about dance this term. 

The Grade 2 students created a whole class dance choreography to Firework by Katy Perry by thinking about the emotions the music made them feel and dance moves that match that emotion. They also practised dancing in time with a 4/4 beat. This week grade 2 students are reflecting on what they have learned about dance this term.

Last week the Grade 3 students reflected on their dance performances and how they used the elements of dance in their dance routines. This week Grade 3 students are reflecting on their learning about dance this term and what they have enjoyed during the dance unit. 

In week 9 the Grade 4 students performed their group dances that used a stimulus to inspire their choreography. As the audience students guessed what the stimulus was based on the dance routine. This week students are reflecting on their dance routines and what they have learned in dance this term.

Last week the Grade 5 students reflected on their dance performances and how they used the elements of dance in their dance routines. This week Grade 5 students are reflecting on their learning about dance this term and what they have enjoyed during the dance unit.

In week 9 the Grade 6 students performed their group dances to their class. As the audience students guessed what the theme was based on the dance routine. This week students are reflecting on their dance routines and what they have learned in dance this term.
