The Olympiads is specifically designed to stimulate and challenge students at a primary school level. It teaches major problem solving strategies and strengthens student's mathematical intuition prior to starting high school. The main aims of the program are to:

  • introduce students to important mathematical concepts
  • teach major strategies and develop flexibility for problem solving
  • foster creativity and ingenuity and strengthen intuition
  • stimulate enthusiasm and enjoyment of mathematics
  • provide for the satisfaction, joy and thrill of meeting challenges

Each week students will participate in an Olympiad lesson where they will work together to solve problems, unpack solutions and become familiar with the structure of Olympiad questions. They will compete in 4 competitions throughout the year where their results will be collected and recorded against other schools within Australia and New Zealand.

We wish them all the best and cannot wait to see how they have gone at the end of the year.

Please keep an eye out for our grade 3 and grade 4 competition teams being selected in Term 2.
