Principal's Report

Welcome back to Term Two, we have had an excellent start to the term and have many events ahead of us this term. It's going to be a busy term and we will find ourselves very quickly at the end of Semester One.

I look forward to seeing many of our families on Saturday  when parents come to vote in the 2025 election - please encourage family and neighbours, even if they have voted already to come down and buy a cake or a sausage or two! Thanks to the many families who have supplied cakes for the cake stall or volunteering to run the stalls on the day.

Cubby House

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Joyce family (Cleo and Alex) for so generously donating their time and energy over the holiday break to help beautify our school grounds — including a wonderful refresh of the cubby house. Their efforts have truly transformed the cubby house, bringing new life, colour, and a welcoming atmosphere that is already being enjoyed by students.

The cubby house looks absolutely fantastic, and it’s thanks to the commitment and community spirit of families like the Joyces that we continue to thrive. On behalf of the entire school community — thank you!

We also had significant facilities work occurred during the holiday break and the school is looking fantastic – line markings in the car park, new footpaths, brick work repaired, electrical works and plumbing works.

Gym AV

After considerable research and multiple attempts to find the right fit, I’m pleased to share that we have partnered with a company that truly understands our vision for the gymnasium. The installation of a new audiovisual system is scheduled to take place this term.

This upgrade will significantly enhance our ability to showcase student learning and achievements, especially in light of our iPad program and the growing opportunities for students to present their work. We’re particularly excited about how this will allow students to share their learning journeys with the wider school community in a clear, engaging, and professional manner. It will also allow a broader use of the gym for our wider community and events.

This project is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to both innovation and inclusivity—ensuring every student’s voice can be heard and celebrated. I look forward to confirming dates and sharing photos with families in the near future.

Principal Shadowing Program

I have been approached by the Department of Education to mentor an aspirant Principal as part of the Unlocking Potential Program. Michelle Di Giovanni from Oakleigh Primary School will be spending 4 weeks with us later this term as part of the program. I look forward to sharing more information when she is here and I know our community will make her feel welcome.
