Term 1 Important Dates

Fete - Thank You

Wow, what an event that the Fete was! After the weather looked a bit dodgy on Thursday, we were greeted with perfect weather, for an afternoon and evening jam-packed with excitement. There were people everywhere and the environment was filled with smiles and laughter. Both our bbq and Pulled Pork Rolls stalls were run off our feet. Thank you so much to all of our parent and student volunteers - we literally could not have done it without you! We again left the night feeling very appreciative and proud of our incredible community. Thanks so much again!

Amity and Tess - Good Luck!

Good luck to Amity and Tess, who have qualified to represent Buninyong Primary School at tomorrow’s District athletics at Llanberis. What an amazing achievement!

Good Luck to our Campers!

We can’t wait to hear back from our Grade 3 students tomorrow and our Grade 4 boys on Thursday about all the camp fun they have had at Cave Hill Creek. We are sure they are having a blast!

Scotsburn Assembly this Friday Postponed

Due to SC2 having their Solar Boat Challenge at the Buninyong campus this Friday, we will have to postpone our planned assembly this Friday. We will now instead hold an End of Term Scotsburn Assembly, next Thursday 3rd April. This will be a lovely way to wrap up the term at Scotsburn celebrating an amazing Term 1 2025!

SC2 Solar Boat Challenge - Friday 28th March

This Friday, SC2 will be spending the entire day at the Scotsburn Campus, participating in the Solar Boat Challenge. This event is the celebration of our Term 1 inquiry unit, focussing on Sustainability and Solar Power. Drop off and pick up will both be at the Buninyong Campus, with students joining the Buninyong classes for a day full of presenting knowledge, racing, and STEM fun!

Interhouse Cross Country Day - Tuesday 1st April

Next Tuesday, we have our whole school Buninyong Interhouse Cross Country Day. This will be again held at the Buninyong campus, where students get the opportunity to run with their designated age groups. We have decided that it is best to spend the entire day at the BUninyong campus, making it easier for drop off and pick up arrangements, as well as maintaining a more settled day for the students. 

Students are encouraged to again wear a t-shirt with their house colour and parents are encouraged to come and support their child. It is always a fun-filled day.

Drop off and pick up will be at Buninyong on this day, with normal bus arrangements continuing from the Buninyong Campus.

End of Term Whole School Assembly - Friday 4th April

Next Friday (final day of Term 1), we will begin the day at the Buninyong Campus for the end of term Whole School Assembly. Our Grade 6 leaders will have a presentation to share from our amazing term at Scotsburn. We encourage all parents to attend if you can - 9am in the gym.

After the assembly, we will have our final visit to the library for the term, and then bus back to Scotsburn for a 2:30pm end of term finish.

On this day, drop off will be at Buninyong, with pick up to be at Scotsburn.

Creative Play in the Yard

With the beautiful weather continuing throughout March, students have been spending lots of their break times participating in creative play activities. At any moment this week, you could have seen students “mining”, making water channels, playing gaga or even wizard tournaments. We love that our students play in such creative and cooperative ways!

SC1 Learning Snapshot

This week, our SC1 students have been hard at work during Spelling lessons. They have been participating in needs-based spelling and phonics programs, building and writing words while saying the sounds as they go. It’s wonderful to see their confidence and skills grow!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our Fete a fantastic success on Friday! Our stall wouldn’t have been possible without your support—flipping countless burgers and sausages. We truly appreciate your time and effort!

SC2 Learning Snapshot

This week in SC2, students have been spending some afternoons in their Solar Boat teams, putting together their solar boats and posters. Across the term, students in SC2 have learnt about sustainable materials, boat design, buoyancy, renewable energy, circuits and lots more! This Friday, the Solar Boat Challenge will provide students with the opportunity to have some fun racing their boats and demonstrating all of their learning.

We have been so proud of our students in SC2 with the way they jump into our morning spelling routines. With lots of different groups happening at once and students moving to different classes and spaces, it is great to see how enthusiastic and organised the students are!
