Black and Green Shield

This Saturday, 5 April marks the highly anticipated Black and Green Shield against Trinity Grammar. After months of dedication in training and trials, this is the first chance for our Rugby, Football, and Tennis players to represent the College in 2025. After missing the internal sport trials last weekend due to the rain, coaches will do their best to pick teams based off what they have seen thus far. Please do not feel disheartened if you do not get selected in the team you want as trials are ongoing and this is another opportunity to display your skills. I would like to extend my best wishes to all those involved. I look forward to seeing you compete with passion, pride, and the spirit of our school. You can view the fixtures on the SPC App.

Uniform and attendance

All boys should be well aware of where their team is playing each week and be correctly attired for their match. Boys attending fixtures in support are also reminded to wear their Supporter’s shirt and College shorts/tracksuit. If boys wish to wear a hat for sun protection, only the black College cap or College bucket hat is to be worn.

Football

Congratulations to the First XI boys on their fantastic 7-0 victory over Kesser Torah College, securing their spot in the third round. Having not progressed past the second round in recent years, the team felt the pressure but was eager to showcase their abilities. After a slow start, they found their rhythm, raised the intensity, and delivered a dominant performance.

The players and coaches were thrilled with the result and deeply appreciated the support from those who attended. They now await the winner of Cranbrook vs St Philip's Christian College Newcastle in the next round.
