Dear Parents, Carers, and Year 10 Students,
We are excited to invite you to our Faculty Exhibition and Subject Mentoring Afternoon on Tuesday, 6th May 2025, at 3:30 PM in the MPC. This event is a valuable opportunity for students and families to discuss subject selections for Years 11 and 12, ensuring alignment with future career aspirations, interests, and educational pathways.
What to Expect:
• Engage with faculty members and explore subject offerings at our exhibition.
• Participate in personalised mentoring sessions to gain insights into subject requirements and pathways.
• Students will receive a web code to access the online subject selection portal and will be required to make their final online selections, before leaving school.
Preparation for the Evening:
To make the most of the event, students have already participated in several preparatory activities, including:
• Exploring Careers: students will have attended careers information sessions where they will have used various tools to align subject choices with career goals, interests and university recommendations.
• Faculty Presentations: Students will have attended information sessions where each Faculty Head Teacher delivered an overview of the subjects offered within their faculty and provided detailed course information.
• Planning Worksheets: Students will have completed personalised worksheets, which will be distributed on the day to discuss during mentoring sessions and used to make their final online selections before leaving school.
Please find attached our 2026-2027 Senior Studies Handbook, which outlines all the subjects available at ASC. I have also attached the Year 10 into 11 Subject Selection Timeline for your reference.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who attended our online HSC Rules & Requirements webinar Wednesday evening. If you were unable to join, a recording of the presentation has been emailed to all parents and carers.
It is important that all parents, carers, and students attend our Faculty Exhibition and Subject Mentoring afternoon on Tuesday 6th May 2025 as it marks an important milestone in planning for senior years. Your involvement will greatly assist in supporting your students’ academic and career aspirations.
Thank you for your support, we look forward to seeing you there
