REC News

Dear Parents and Carers,

On Tuesday, March 19th, we will celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph with our parish community with a Mass at St. Andrew’s church at 2 p.m. St. Joseph was the husband of Mary, the mother of Jesus. According to the earliest Christian traditions, he was a carpenter or woodworker. The Gospel of Matthew calls him a “righteous man,” meaning he was an observant Jew who obeyed God’s law.

During our Religious Education lessons at school, we will learn about St. Joseph and his feast day.

In Stage 3, students are learning about Catholic Social Teachings through organisations committed to helping others in need.

Our learners have been researching various charities, including Fr Chris Riley’s Youth off the Streets in Sydney, St. Vincent De Paul Society, Fred Hollows Foundation and Caritas Australia. These charities are dedicated to helping people around the world to have a better quality of life. Stage 3 is learning that faith in action can positively impact the lives and dignity of others.

Yours in faith,

Karlee Hatton
