Jesus as a Child
Last week, students in Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 took part in a workshop that focused on Jesus as a child. Students learnt about the birth and early life of Jesus. They listened to stories about Jesus and heard about his early teachings. This workshop will support student learning as we begin teaching the events of Holy Week.
Catholic Education Week
10–17 March 2024
Catholic Education Week will be celebrated in Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne from 10–17 March 2024.
This annual event is held to promote the special ethos of Catholic schools and to highlight the great things that take place in Catholic schools every day.
The theme for this year’s celebrations is ‘In the Light of Christ’.
Catholic education strives to make a difference in the lives of those in our schools and in the wider community by challenging young people to live out the message of Jesus and walk the way of the gospel to reach their full potential as compassionate, contributing, life-giving members of society.
There are 331 Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne that educate around 114,000 students and employ more than 16,000 teachers and staff, and most will celebrate Catholic Education Week in some way.
Our school is planning several activities during the week including reading of scripture, picture books and craft activities.
Project Compassion
Please continue to donate to your home or classroom Project Compassion Boxes. These boxes will be collected in the last week of this term.
We have heard about a lot of initiatives taking place over the weekend where students are donating their hard earned fund raising! Well done!
Spanning across the six weeks of Lent each year, Project Compassion brings thousands of Australian schools, parishes and supporters together to raise funds for people living in some of the most vulnerable communities across the world.
Your generous support can help change lives today - and For All Future Generations.
Holy Week Paraliturgy
On the last day of term (Holy Thursday), our Year 6 students will reenact the events of Holy Week with a special Liturgy in the hall. Other classes will share their learnings and reflections through videos and artwork.
We welcome parents and caregivers to attend this special Easter Paraliturgy.
