In the face of stormy challenges, our recent inter-house swimming carnival emerged as a shining example of resilience, determination, and sporting prowess. The two-day extravaganza showcased not only the aquatic skills of our talented students but also their ability to weather the unexpected storms that tried to dampen the spirits of our swimmers.
A heartfelt congratulations is extended to each and every participant who dove into the waters with determination and enthusiasm. Regardless of the outcomes, every swimmer showcased admirable sportsmanship, courage, and a commendable spirit of competition. Your efforts and commitment were the driving force behind the success of this event. Whether you swam for the thrill of victory, the pursuit of personal bests, or simply for the joy of being part of this vibrant sporting community, your contributions did not go unnoticed. Each stroke, each kick, and each breath taken in the pool added to the collective energy and excitement - You are all champions in our eyes!
Congratulations to Lachlan Elder who broke the record for the Junior Boys 100m Freestyle.
Celebrating excellence across various age categories, our age champions of the carnival were:
These young champions displayed not only exceptional skill but also sportsmanship and teamwork, embodying the true spirit of our school's sporting community.
Despite the fiercely contested battles in the water, where each house demonstrated and gave their all, it was Gordon House that emerged victorious in our inter-house swimming carnival. The competition was intense, with every house showcasing commendable teamwork and individual excellence. A congratulations to Gordon House for their well-deserved triumph, and a nod of appreciation to all the houses for making this inter-house swimming carnival a thrilling spectacle of resilience and sportsmanship.
The decision to extend the carnival over two days due to storms turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Despite the initial setbacks, the extended format allowed for more thrilling races, dramatic comebacks, and heart-stopping finishes with the whole Junior School there to see. The atmosphere around the pool was electric, with cheers and encouragement echoing through the venue, creating an unforgettable experience for both participants and spectators.
We are thrilled to share some exciting sporting news about one of our teachers, Mr Lachlan Barrett, who is lacing up his running shoes for a remarkable cause. Mr Barrett has taken on the challenge of participating in the upcoming Orange Running Festival’s Marathon as part of the KWS Stars of Orange team, all in support of the Cancer Council.
This year, Mr Barrett is not only embracing the physical challenge of running 42.2km but is also using the opportunity to raise much-needed funds for cancer research and support programs.
To support Mr Barrett's efforts and contribute to the Cancer Council, you can make a donation directly through the KWS Stars of Orange fundraising page: https://stars.cancercouncil.com.au/fundraisers/kinrosswolaroi/stars-of-orange
