A wonderful celebration of community

The Kinross Wolaroi School Country Fair

The School grounds looked magnificent last Saturday as we staged our Country Fair on the main oval.  We were blessed with good weather as hundreds of parents and staff worked tirelessly to bring this huge event to fruition.  Months and months of planning and a great deal of hard work and generosity of spirit culminated in a wonderful celebration of friendship and community.

I wish to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for the outstanding support and participation towards the day.

The fair was a resounding success, and it would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of our dedicated volunteers, the generosity of our sponsors, and the enthusiastic participation of our students, parents, staff, and wider community.

Through your contributions, whether it was through donations, volunteering your time, participating in the fair, or buying a ticket in the raffle, your support not only helped us to raise vital funds for our restoration of Wolaroi Mansion but also fostered a strong sense of community spirit and belonging. From the lively stalls and delicious food to the entertaining performances and fun activities, the fair provided a wonderful opportunity for us to come together as a community, celebrate our school’s values, and create lasting memories.

I would like to extend a special thank you to our amazing P&F Association who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help us to muster volunteers and donations, as well as deliver a huge variety of stalls that delighted our guests on the day - we are incredibly grateful for your unwavering support.

A warm thank you also goes to our teacher volunteers for the fantastic support you provided in creating stalls and activities, as well as supporting our students to get involved. Your dedication and hard work did not go unnoticed.

Our operational staff were integral to the success of the day, with our Kitchen, Grounds, Transport, Cleaning and Health Centre teams all providing wonderful support that I would like to warmly acknowledge.

I would also like to express our gratitude to our sponsors for their generous contributions: Major sponsor, Beyond Bank; Gold sponsors Orange Ex-Services Club, Coleman’s Equipment and Marvasti Security; Silver sponsors Thrive Plan and Morgans; and Bronze sponsors, Coopers Earthmoving.

Last but not least, thanks go to our Engagement Team led by Jen Divall, and in particular our events coordinator, Harriet Alker, who pulled everything together to stage one of our best school fairs ever.

Once again, thank you to everyone who helped make the Kinross Wolaroi School Country Fair a tremendous success. Your support is truly appreciated and makes a significant difference to our school community.

We look forward to seeing you all again at our future events and continuing to work together to create memorable experiences for our students.

Congratulations

Encore 2024: Congratulations Max Bloomfield

On Monday students in Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 elective Music classes travelled to the Sydney Opera House to watch our very own Max Bloomfield play in Encore, NESA’s showcase of exemplary HSC performances and compositions.  Max is the first Kinross Wolaroi student ever to be included in this prestigious concert. Max gave an exhilarating performance of his solo marimba piece ‘Flash’. Despite some complications with a malfunctioning mallet, the audience were amazed by Max’s brilliant performance and ability to play under pressure. Max felt ‘jazzed’ after the performance and was looking forward to performing at the evening concert. All music students that attended left inspired and ‘couldn’t wait to get home and practice’.

We thank Max for his outstanding contribution to Music during his time at Kinross Wolaroi School.  We are so proud of everything that he has achieved!
