Kindy Bush School Adventures
To begin their Bush School adventures, Kindy students have been exploring their Little Bush School space, creating a shared charter to encourage safe, respectful exploration and acknowledging the land at each session to build a connection to Country. In recent weeks, they have engaged in hands-on activities such as planting, weeding and investigating bugs, using microscopes to observe insect features and discuss their needs and care. This experiential learning has strongly supported their inquiry into living things, and the children are excited to soon expand their experiences into “Big Bush School.”
A Wild Adventure: Kindy Visits the WA Wildlife Hospital
The Kindy children recently enjoyed their first excursion to the WA Wildlife Hospital, an exciting experience that began with the novelty of riding on a bus for many of them. During an engaging tour, they explored areas like the operating theatre and ICU, while learning about injured animals and how to care for the environment. They met resident reptiles, including a turtle, bobtail lizard and giant snake, bravely giving each a gentle pat, and later took part in the “Animals of the Outback” experience—feeding emus, greeting dingoes, watching Henry the cockatoo dance, feeding Raffy the black cockatoo, and observing koalas and tawny frogmouth owls. Throughout the day, the children showed great curiosity and enthusiasm, asking thoughtful questions and deepening their interest in animals, bugs and the natural world.
Junior Interschool Cross Country
Over the past couple of weeks, some of our Junior School students took part in the Junior ACC and Independent Primary School Heads of Australia (IPSHA) Cross Country Carnivals. These events provided a fantastic opportunity for our students to challenge themselves, demonstrate resilience and compete against strong fields from across the state.
All the students who represented the College gave everything out on the course, showing determination, sportsmanship and a willingness to push themselves to their limits. We could not be more proud of their efforts and the way they represented the College.
A special congratulations goes to the following students who achieved outstanding results by finishing in the Top 10:
