Helping Your Child Thrive in a Digital World

 

Raising children in today’s digital world can feel overwhelming at times. From AI, gaming and social media to screen time, online friendships and digital habits, many parents are looking for practical ways to help their children grow into confident, resilient and healthy young people.

 

To support families in navigating these challenges, we’re partnering with ySafe to deliver a practical and engaging parent session focused on modern parenting in a rapidly changing digital world.

 

This session will explore:

• AI, social media, gaming and current online trends

• Healthy screen time and digital habits

• Practical ways to support children’s wellbeing, resilience and decision-making online

• Strategies for creating a safer, more balanced digital home environment

• How to keep communication open and relationships strong in the digital years

 

Designed for today’s families, this session is supportive, practical and relevant to the realities of modern parenting. Whether you’re navigating devices, online pressures, gaming, sleep struggles or simply trying to stay informed, this session will provide realistic guidance and practical takeaways you can apply immediately.

Year 3 Excursion - Centennial Parklands - Monday 15 June 2026

An excursion to Centennial Parkland has been organised for students in Year 3 on Monday 15 May 2026. Students will consolidate their understanding of life-cycles and participate in hands-on activities including dip netting. 

 

Students will travel by bus from Kambala to Centennial Parklands.  

 

On this excursion, students should wear their full sports uniform, including their sports cap. Those with the new white Kambala Sports polo should wear this. House shirts are suitable for students who are yet to transfer to the new uniform. Students must wear their Sports School Zip jacket (No Fleece!) over their polo shirt. Track suit pants may be brought if the weather is inclement and may be worn over sports shorts. Please apply SUNSCREEN prior to arriving at school. 

 

Students are to arrive at school by 8:25 am for Roll call, and they will return to school at approximately 1:30 pm in time for normal carline collection or Monday extra-curricular lessons. They are required to bring all food and water in their BLACK KAMBALA EXCURSION BAG.

 

A permission form was sent to parents to complete earlier this week. 

 

Please note - NO CANTEEN ORDERS ON THIS DAY - all food and water must be taken with the girls on the bus in the morning in their Kambala black excursion bag. 

Year 4 Service Learning Incursion: Pack4Good - Wednesday 17 June 2026

On Wednesday 17 June, the Year 4 students will take part in Pack4Good, a service‑learning incursion run by Kids Giving Back. 

As part of the initiative, each student will assemble and personalise two activity packs that will be donated to children in need, including those experiencing long hospital stays. This hands‑on experience encourages students to think deeply about the impact of small acts of kindness, and aims to strengthen students’ understanding of compassion and community, while empowering them to see themselves as capable contributors to the world around them.

Year 6 Production "Once Upon a Term!" - Thursday 18 June 2026 - Alexander Hall - 6.00pm

We invite our Year 6 families to reserve their tickets to this year's exciting production.

She's beautiful, she's bossy, and she's stolen our spirit. Witness the ultimate showdown between the pure-hearted students of Kambala and the Queen of Dark Deeds!

Annual Strings and Orchestra Evening - Monday 22 June 2026 - Alexander Hall - 6.00pm

Join us for an evening celebrating the progress and dedication of our string musicians from Years 1–12. 

Performances will include:

  • May Friend Strings
  • Pamela Whyte Strings
  • Junior Cello Ensemble
  • Junior Strings (Years 3-4 & 5-6)
  • Dulcie Holland Orchestra
  • Tango Orchestra
  • Kambala String Quartets (Junior, Intermediate & Senior)
  • Kambala Chamber Orchestra

The evening opens with the Senior Orchestra and concludes with a spectacular combined performance.

Important Details for Performers:

  • School-day rehearsal: Junior students involved must bring their instrument and music for a daytime run-through in Alexander Hall. Class teachers will share the schedule.
  • Arrival time: 5.15pm for tuning and setup
  • Uniform: Full winter school uniform

Guitar and Percussion Evening - Wednesday 24 June 2026 - Music Performance Theatre - 6.00pm

We warmly invite all parents and friends to join us for a wonderful Guitar and Percussion Evening on Wednesday, 24 June 2026, starting at 6.00pm in the Performance Theatre.

 

This showcase highlights the impressive talent and dedication of our musicians, featuring a diverse program that ranges from the rhythmic energy of our percussionists to the melodic storytelling of our guitar ensembles. 

 

Our Junior Guitarists will bring a touch of nostalgia to the stage with the Australian classic Waltzing Matilda, while our Senior Guitarists will showcase their technical skill with a rendition of The Beatles’ folk-rock masterpiece, Norwegian Wood.

 

Our four percussion ensembles with students ranging from year 5 to year 12 will be playing a total of five very diverse pieces. Some of them are original percussion ensemble compositions together with  well known classical and pop music, as well.

 

It promises to be a memorable night of music and community, and we look forward to seeing you there to celebrate our students' hard work!

End of Term 2 Church Services - St Michael's Vaucluse - Friday 26 June, 2026

We appreciate our diversity and take the opportunity to honour our Anglican Heritage.

Girls in Kindergarten - Year 3 will walk up to St Michael’s Church on Friday 26 June 2026 at 1.30pm to attend end of term church service and out Year 4 - Year 6 girls will walk up at 2.15pm to attend their end of term service.

 

As a mark of respect, girls are to wear full Winter Uniform on the day including Blazers and Panama Hats. If students have a timetabled sports or PE lessons on Friday 26 June they are to bring their sports uniforms in their Kambala Sports bags. 

Choral Gala Evening - Tuesday 28 July 2026 - Alexander Hall - 6.00pm

The Choral Gala is fast approaching. 

 

We are looking forward to our Annual Choral Gala which involves all choristers from years 3 - 12 with performances from:

- Senior Chamber Choir 

- Madrigal Group 

- Senior Choir 

- Contemporary Vocal Ensemble 

- Junior Chamber Choir 

- Junior (3-4 Choir)

- Junior (5-6 Choir)

 

A Tech run will be held throughout the day so please attend these on time.

The concert commences at 6.00pm and should conclude by 7:15pm.

Learn to be Safe with Emmy and Friends

Learn to Be Safe with Emmy & Friends is an evidence-based protective behaviours program. It empowers children to recognise, react to, and report unsafe situations through engaging, age-appropriate activities and resources. 

 

The program focuses on four key areas: Feeling Safe, Safe Choices, Body Safety, and People & Safety, helping children build confidence and understand their right to feel safe.

 

Preparation, Year 1 and Year 3 Students will participate in the program in Term 3.
