Sharing the Journey

Last Friday 5 June staff had the opportunity to embark on a virtual pilgrimage to Rome, immersing ourselves in the rich history, traditions and spiritual significance of places that have shaped the Catholic faith for centuries. Together with colleagues from St Catherine's (Moorabbin), we shared an experience of faith formation and collegial connection.

This time together also highlighted the importance of community. Pilgrims rarely travel alone, and neither do we. The shared purpose we experience strengthens our collective ability to serve all members of the St Peter's community. Just as pilgrims draw strength from their companions on the road, we too are enriched by the collegial relationships that sustain us throughout our professional and personal journeys.

As we near the halfway marker of the 2026 school year, may we be reminded that we are all travellers on a shared path. We are called to grow in faith and support one another as we seek to make a positive difference in the lives of those we encounter and share our journey with.

Policy Spotlight - Parent Code of Conduct

At St Peter's we greatly value our partnership with parents and the shared responsibiity of nurturing our young people and supporting their development. As partners in education, parents and school staff share a responsibility to model positive and respectful interactions.

We acknowledge that there may be times when parents wish to address concerns, or seek clarification regarding their child's learning or an incident on the yard. In this instance we request that parents respectfully contact the relevant staff member by email and make a time to speak with them regarding the matter. It is important that all concerns are communicated with the school, and that parents do not approach another child with a view to disciplining that child for their behaviour, or approach other parents to resolve issues arising between students - such matters are only to be dealt with by school staff.

Teachers and school leaders work hard to support every student and family, and clear communication, appropriate boundaries and mutual respect help ensure that these partnerships remain strong and productive. By demonstrating respect for one another's roles and responsibilities, we provide a powerful example for our children and contribute to a positive and supportive school community for all.

The Parent Code of Conduct policy provides clear guidelines to all parents and visitors regarding the conduct expected of them while in a school environment, or at school related places, engaging in school-related activities or representing the school.

  • The application of the Parent Code of Conduct is not limited to the school site and school hours. It extends to all school-related activities and events (including, but not limited to: school fetes, camps or sporting events, online activity, parent activities booked in the name of the school, etc.) and when visiting or representing the school
  • Parents/guardians/carers and visitors are expected to uphold the school’s core values at all times
  • Parents/guardians/carers who breach this Code of Conduct will be contacted by the principal. Appropriate action is at the discretion of the principal and other authorised persons
  • Repeated breaches or a single instance of a serious breach of the Parent Code of Conduct, and/or relevant school policies may result in a termination of enrolment
