SECONDARY ATHLETICS CARNIVAL - WHAT A DAY!
BY STEVE KELLY (SECONDARY SPORT COORDINATOR & CSEN COORDINATOR)
Conditions were absolutely perfect for our Secondary House Athletics Carnival — not a breath of wind, warm sunshine and an atmosphere to match. It was a great day of healthy competition, big performances, and genuine team spirit, and a reminder of just how good these events can be when everyone gets involved.
The competition was tight across all age groups, with points hard-fought from the field events right through to the track. Marunari ran out convincing winners on the day, but all four houses should be proud of the effort their students put in.
A huge thank you to the staff and students who helped run events on the day, and to our House Captains who were out there organising, encouraging, and cheering their teams home. Carnivals like this don't run themselves, and it's always appreciated.
Top performing students from the carnival will be selected to represent BHCS at the CSEN Athletics Championships in September — more details to follow as we get closer to the date.
