Visual Arts

The Earth without art is just Eh!
This term we have been learning to create large artworks with a sustainable focus. All 56 students have been enjoying making 3-dimensional animal totems during art class. These have been made with papier mache and recycled cardboard. We first had to visualise our totem animal in a dimensional form, then we had to pre-plan the size and base shape of the animal's head.
We had to research an animal that we felt connected to and share characteristics or personality traits with. We’ve been encouraged to recognise a possible spiritual connection with this animal to help us understand different indigenous cultures and their connection with the world.
Thank you on behalf of the Art leaders - Sam A, Charlie G, Jack L, and Sam C.
