Reconciliation Week

Reconciliation Week 2026 - All In
National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June) is a time for all Australians to learn, reflect, and take action toward a more just and reconciled future with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year's theme, All In, reminds us that Reconciliation is everyone's responsibility - and everyone's privilege.
Across the week, Pilgrim students and staff embraced this call in their own meaningful ways - from creative expression and cultural learning in the classroom, to shared reflection and prayer as a staff community. We believe Reconciliation begins with open hearts, and we're proud of the way our school community leaned in together.
Year 1/2
As part of our Reconciliation activities in Year 1/2W, we had a wonderful conversation around what it means to be 'All In' for Reconciliation. Our students used hand templates to design a visual representation of their commitment and reflected on the actions they can take to promote respect, deepen understanding and build unity.

Year 3/4
Our Year 3/4 students explored Finding Our Heart by Thomas Mayor, deepening their understanding of First Nations histories, cultures, and the importance of respect, reconciliation, and belonging in Australia. They also observed local birds and watched selected animal story videos, then worked in pairs and small groups to create dance movements bringing animal actions and stories to life.
Year 5/6
The Year 5/6 students explored the art of weaving - creating their own designs around bangles using raffia. As a class we discussed how we can practise reconciliation every day by valuing and respecting different perspectives and cultures, and learning from others.
