Wednesday 24th June

Student Free Day

A reminder that Wednesday 24 June will be a Student-Free Day to allow teachers time to meet with families and discuss student progress and achievement.

Each interview will be 15 minutes in length, providing an opportunity for teachers to share your child's learning growth, celebrate successes, and discuss next steps for Semester 2.

As there will be no written comments included in student reports this semester, we strongly encourage all families to book an interview. We expect that an interview will be scheduled for every student, as this meeting will form an important part of the reporting process and communication between home and school.

Interview times will be available during the following sessions:

  • 8:00am – 11:00am (10:00am – 11:00am online via Webex only)

  • 2:00pm – 6:30pm (2:00pm – 4:00pm online via Webex only)

1/2A Families - Please note that, due to Mie-Mie's absence at the end of term, families in her class will have their Parent Teacher Interviews scheduled for Wednesday 15 July (Week 1 - Term 3). Further information regarding booking times will be provided directly to those families.

1/2C Families - Please note that, due to Amy McCart's absence on Weds 24th June, Ainslie Peszynski will conduct all meetings for 1/2C on behalf of their teaching team.

We value the partnership between home and school and look forward to discussing your child's learning journey with you.

Further information regarding the booking process will be communicated via Compass next week.

School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support

SWPBS – Our Celebration Tree is Full of Birds!

We are excited to share that our Celebration Tree is now completely full of birds! This is a wonderful achievement and a reflection of the positive culture our students continue to build every day.

Throughout the year, students earn eggs when they demonstrate one of our four school values: Compassion, Ambition, Courage and Creativity. Every positive acknowledgement contributes towards our whole-school goal.

Once students have earned 4,000 positive acknowledgement eggs, these are transformed into 400 colourful chicks. Those chicks are then converted into 40 beautiful birds, which are proudly displayed on the branches of our Celebration Tree in the office.

Reaching this milestone means that our students have collectively demonstrated our school values more than 4,000 times. Every egg represents a moment where a student has made a positive choice, shown kindness, taken on a challenge, thought creatively or demonstrated courage.

As a result of this fantastic achievement, our Junior School Council will now be consulting with students across the school to help decide on a special Celebration Day. We know students will have some creative ideas, and JSC representatives will be seeking feedback from their classmates over the coming week before making a recommendation.

Congratulations to all of our students for helping our Celebration Tree flourish. We look forward to watching it fill again as we continue to celebrate the many ways our students live our values every day.

Working Bee – Friday 12 June

We invite families and community members to join us for a Working Bee on Friday 12 June from 3.30pm–5.00pm.

⭐EACH FAMILY MEMBER WHO ATTENDS WILL EARN 50 HOUSE POINTS!!⭐

Our focus for the afternoon will be tidying and refreshing our school grounds, including weeding garden beds, spreading mulch and general clean-up work around the yard.

Many hands make light work, and even a short amount of time makes a big difference to our shared spaces. Students are welcome to attend with parent supervision.

If you are able to assist, please bring along gardening gloves and any handy garden tools (rake, shovel, blower, broom, etc) you may have available.

We greatly appreciate the support of our school community and look forward to working together to keep BHNPS looking its best.
