Sports at Green Valley PS
It has been another exciting few weeks of sport at Green Valley Public School, with our students proudly representing our school community.
A reminder to all families that our Athletics Carnival is fast approaching. This is always one of the highlights of the school sporting calendar, providing every student with the opportunity to challenge themselves, have fun, and demonstrate our school values through participation, encouragement and teamwork. We look forward to seeing our students give their best and support one another throughout the day.
🏃♀️Cross Country
A huge congratulations to all students who competed in the recent Cross Country Carnival. It was a fantastic day, with students demonstrating outstanding effort, resilience and sportsmanship. Every student participated with enthusiasm and should be proud of the way they challenged themselves and supported their peers throughout the event.
We would especially like to acknowledge Alexa Glavan, who has qualified for the Sydney South West (SSW) Regional Cross Country Championships this coming Wednesday. Alexa's dedication, perseverance and positive attitude have been outstanding, and we wish her every success as she competes against the region's best runners.
🏐 GVPSSA Girls Netball
Congratulations to our GVPSSA Girls Netball team for proudly representing Green Valley Public School. Although the team did not come away with a win on the day, their incredible team spirit, resilience and positive attitude made them true champions.
After giving their all at the Zone Cross Country the day before, many of the girls were feeling a little sore and tired. Despite this, they arrived with smiles on their faces, supported one another, and played every game with determination and enthusiasm. Their perseverance and sportsmanship were a credit to themselves and our school.
A special shout-out goes to Rania Nadan and Maya Harake, who showed exceptional leadership, encouragement and commitment both on and off the court. Well done, girls!
🥎GVPSSA Girls Softball
Congratulations also to our talented girls' softball team, who represented Green Valley at the GVPSSA Softball Gala Day. The team displayed exceptional teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the competition and finished the day as runners-up. Whata fantastic achievement!
Well done to Amani Panjsheri, Ariel Pyke, Evielyn Bourke and Alexa Glavan for the wonderful way they represented our school.
🏀 Basketball Clinic K–6
It has been wonderful to see so many of our students putting their basketball skills into action during this year's K–6 Basketball Clinic. Many students are now participating in their second year of the program, and it has been fantastic to see how much their confidence and ability have grown.
The coaches from the Bankstown Bruins were extremely impressed, not only by the students' developing basketball skills, but also by the kindness, encouragement and teamwork they showed as they supported one another throughout the sessions.
Well done to all of our students for representing Green Valley Public School with such pride. Keep up the great work!
