Principal Report

Mrs Luckman

Welcome to the first newsletter of 2025!

I would like to begin by expressing my heartfelt thanks to all of our wonderful families for contributing to what has been a fantastic start to the year. It has been wonderful to see our students returning with such enthusiasm, and I’m thrilled to report that they’ve settled in beautifully.

As the new Principal of Inglewood Primary School, I am both excited and truly grateful for the opportunity to lead this incredible community. I understand that stepping into this role comes with its challenges, and I know I won’t always get everything right. However, I can assure you that I will always give 100 percent in everything I do, with the best interests of our students at heart.

I want to emphasise that my door is always open. Whether you have concerns or would simply like to share in the joys and successes of our school community, I am more than happy to listen, support, and celebrate alongside you. Your partnership and engagement are key to the continued success of our school, and I look forward to building strong, meaningful connections with each and every one of you.

Here's to a wonderful year ahead!

Paperless Newsletter

As you can see from this newsletter, we are excited to be experimenting with an online version to make it more accessible and to do our part in becoming a more sustainable school. We are always looking for ways to improve, and your feedback is incredibly valuable to us.

I would love to hear from families about this new format. Please let me know if you have any thoughts, concerns, or suggestions as we move forward with it. Your input will help ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our community in the best possible way.

Thank you for your support as we embark on this new initiative!

                      2025 Staffing

I want to take this opportunity to express just how incredibly fortunate we are to have such dedicated staff members at IPS, along with our excellent teacher-student ratios. This unique advantage allows us to provide tailored, individualised support for each child, ensuring we can effectively meet their specific learning needs.

On a personal note, I am delighted to welcome Kym Childs, Macey Martin, Kim Doherty, and our wellbeing worker Megan to the IPS community. Their expertise and commitment will undoubtedly make a positive and lasting impact on both our students and their families.

We truly find ourselves in an extraordinary position, one that will significantly enhance the educational experience and wellbeing of everyone involved.

  Welcome To Our New Families

On behalf of all the staff and students at IPS, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new families. We are confident that you will thoroughly enjoy becoming a part of our vibrant community. Please know that you are always welcome to reach out to any of us if you need assistance or have any questions. We are here to support you every step of the way.

   New Contact Information

I would like to inform families that the school's phone number is 54 383 303. I can also be reached at the school's new mobile number at 0494 367 747. My email is rebecca.luckman@education.vic.gov.au. While I will endeavour to respond to your queries promptly, please allow up to 24 hours for a reply to non-urgent matters.

Kerrie, our Business Manager, will be in the office on Monday and Tuesday.

 Welcome BBQ

We are very excited to celebrate the start of 2025 with our annual welcome BBQ on Monday 17th Feburary. Please bring along a salad or sweet to share, and the school will supply the meat. The JSC will be selling soft drinks for $2 a can to kick off their 2025 fundraising. We look forward to seeing you all there!

 Classrooms

If you haven’t had the chance yet, I highly encourage you to pop your head in and have a look at the exciting classroom themes our dedicated staff have created this year. Not only was the theme developed in collaboration with the students, but the excitement they experience when they see the effort and changes is truly special. Research shows that classrooms that reflect students' input and interests can significantly enhance their engagement and sense of belonging.

I would also like to take a moment to personally thank our staff for dedicating so many hours of their holiday break to set up these rooms for our students. This is certainly not something they are required to do, but it’s just one more example of how our staff consistently go above and beyond. So, a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you. Your commitment is deeply appreciated.

School Council AGM

Our school council will be holding its AGM on March 18th at 6:00 PM at IPS. The AGM is open to anyone in our school community who would like to attend. After the AGM, we will hold our first official meeting, where those who have not been elected to the council will be invited to leave. We’d love to see you there!

UEducateUs

As you may be aware, UEducateUs is our main form of communication. This platform makes signing permission notes and staying up to date with what's happening around the school simple and central. If you need help downloading or navigating the system, please don't hesitate to ask.

Bus Route

We would like to inform you of a slight adjustment to our current bus route. Going forward, the school bus will first pick up students from St. Mary's, followed by a stop at Inglewood Primary School. This change will help ensure safe transportation for children attending after-school care.

Please note that this adjustment will not affect bus times, and students will continue to be collected from school at approximately 3:15 PM.

Football Day

On Tuesday, we travelled to Bridgewater, where we had the chance to meet and chat with three Carlton football players. We then went outside, took some photos, and watched them kick a few goals. Afterward, we had lunch and played. We had such a wonderful time, and we'd like to thank Bridgewater for inviting us.

Food For Families

Inside near the office, we have a range of food for families to take from cereals to fresh fruit and veg. Please come in and fill up a bag.
