Book Club

Why are book clubs important?

• Deepen readers' appreciation and understanding of a common text
• Extend students' thinking as they process and interpret the perspectives and opinions of their peers
• Expand students' ability to express their ideas orally using academic language
• Provide an authentic context for applying norms for listening and speaking

Year 5 and 6 Book Club will be beginning in Week Four of Term One. Book Club will be held on Friday mornings, 9:15am - 9:45am. If you are available to assist in guiding groups for these sessions, please email your child's classroom teacher to inform them of your availability. Please note that you may be working with groups of children other than your own.
