Visual Arts

Term 1 - Week 5

Foundation - The Foundation students have enjoyed exploring in 'the big craft cupboard', a.k.a. The Art room. They started exploring with Play dough and they were able to make their name. Check this out...

They also drew a picture of themselves, started talking about colour and making patterns. We have allocated everyone an art smock and we are ready to get messy!! Stay tuned...

Year 1 and 2 - The Year 1 and 2 students have been creating an art piece called 'Reach for the stars'. They will be bringing this home soon, to pin up at home. We talked about what reaching for the stars meant and we are looking forward to achieving our best in 2025.

Year 3 and 4 - Year 3 and 4 have been looking at Pop Artists and creating art in pop art style. We have made a 2025, a name tile and we are now creating paper mâché balloons that we are going to hang up. These will be painted in Pop Art style. The students have enjoyed a practise of the paper mâché and enjoyed getting messy. We look forward to sharing how they turn out.

Year 5 and 6 - The Year 5 and 6 students have also looked at Pop Art and they have done a 2025, name tile and created their own pop art piece, inspired by Andy Warhol. These students are going to create some printing pieces in this style soon.

RECYCLED MATERIALS - We don't require any more cardboard rolls. Thanks to those who took the time to donate. If you find some interesting bits and pieces that might be good for art, please email me. We are always on the lookout for materials we can recycle.

Have a great week.
