Year 8

The Year 8s have officially wrapped up their Flying Start program for 2024, and what a success it has been! Over the past weeks, students have participated in engaging activities that tested their knowledge of signs, including lexicalisation and mime. Their creativity and focus truly shone as they embraced these challenges with enthusiasm and demonstrated their growing skills.

One of the highlights was a directed colouring activity that put their Size and Shape Specifiers (SASS) and colour sign knowledge to the test. The room was filled with laughter and concentration, and it was clear that students were enjoying every moment there wasn’t a frown in sight! With this fantastic finish to 2024, we’re already looking forward to 2025, knowing our students are ready to tackle the new year with excitement and confidence. Well done, Year 8s!

Now that the 'C' word 'Christmas' is in the air, it’s time to start slowing down and reflecting on a wonderful year of learning! Our students have successfully reviewed all the topics covered this year, and it’s been incredible to see how much they’ve accomplished. This year marked the first year of Languages for many, and everyone has done an amazing job embracing the challenges and opportunities that came with it. We’re so proud of their progress and the enthusiasm they’ve shown throughout the year.

To celebrate, this past Friday in Assembly, we were treated to a fantastic performance by students from 1/2C. Their energy and dedication shone through, leaving everyone in the audience impressed. As we wind down for the holidays, we want to thank all our families for their support this year and look forward to another exciting year ahead!

Kind regards,
