End Of Term 4:

Wellbeing Report

End-of-Year Message from the Wellbeing Team

As 2024 comes to a close, we want to celebrate the incredible resilience and achievements of our South Oakleigh College community. This year has been filled with challenges and triumphs, and it has been inspiring to see students, families, and staff working together to create a supportive and thriving environment. Whether you’ve accomplished big milestones or made small but meaningful progress, every step forward is worth celebrating.

The summer holidays are a perfect time to recharge and connect with the things that bring you joy. Whether you’re travelling, spending time with friends and family, or enjoying some well-earned rest, take this time to care for yourself and those around you.

Staying Safe and Enjoying the Holidays

  • Be Sun Smart: Use sunscreen, wear a hat, and stay hydrated during outdoor activities.
  • Unplug and Unwind: Take breaks from screens to enjoy hobbies or connect with nature.
  • Look After Your Mental Health: Remember, it’s okay to slow down and ask for help if you’re feeling overwhelmed.

Looking Ahead to 2025

As the holidays come to an end, you might feel a mix of excitement and nervousness about returning to school. These feelings are completely normal, and there are ways to make the transition smoother:

  • Adjust Your Routine: Start waking up earlier and getting back into a school-friendly schedule a few days before term begins.
  • Focus on the Positives: Think about what excites you about the new year, such as reconnecting with friends or exploring new subjects.
  • Talk It Out: Share your thoughts with someone you trust—it’s a great way to feel supported.
  • Set Small Goals: Having achievable goals can help you feel more prepared and confident.
