Principal's Message

Mrs Belinda Hall - Relieving Principal

Welcome back

Students have settled into the term and are immersed in the learning focuses conveyed in the term overviews sent out last Friday. It has been wonderful seeing all the smiling faces as they enter the school grounds each morning. A reminder that all students need to be in winter uniform from next week onwards. In the meantime, either summer or winter uniform is permitted to be worn.

Anzac Day

During the holidays, I had the privilege of attending the Anzac Day dawn service at Forest Park in Epping with our school leaders and their parents. During the service our leaders respectfully placed a wreath at the base of the monument as a sign of respect and gratitude to military personnel past and present. It was wonderful to see so many families from the Roselea community braving the early start to attend the moving service and commemorate the event.

Student safety

To help ensure student safety, we will be keeping the school gates closed between 9am and 3pm. If you are entering the school between these times, the gates will be unlocked, simply slide the lock at the top across and then lift the bolt at the bottom and hold up when opening. We ask that you please close the gate behind you. This is also a good opportunity to remind you of the importance of having students at school on time each day. This will ensure there is no missed learning and eliminates hassles with the gates as students will not be able to open or close the gate without an adult, therefore please prioritise arriving at school before 9am each morning.

Extracurricular opportunities

At Roselea, students are provided a range of extracurricular opportunities to develop and showcase their skills in a range of areas. Some of the opportunities our teachers facilitate include educational opportunities with debating and the Maths Olympiad. We offer several creative arts activities including choir, band, and dance groups for Stage 1 and Years 3-6. Students develop their leadership skills as part of the SRC and Peer Support. PSSA, Zone carnivals and the Roselea Cup are just some of the sporting activities offered at our school. None of these opportunities would be possible without the wonderful staff we have at Roselea, giving up their time to coach and mentor the students.
