Sony Foundation Camp 2024
Marist College Ashgrove is excited to host its 18th Children’s Holiday Camp for children with physical and intellectual disabilities, held at no cost to parents.
We aim to:
- Provide a four-day fun camp for children with special needs
- Offer respite care to families of these children
- Offer senior students an opportunity to serve others
Who is it available to?
Sony Foundation Camp at Marist College Ashgrove will provide accommodation for 20 special needs children between the ages of 10 – 16 years. Due to the high demand for places, children can attend the camp only once. Our companions are both male and female, so both boys and girls are welcome to attend the camp.
Who will look after my child?
Companions are chosen after careful consideration to ensure we match the right companion with each child. Our companions consider the experience a privilege and for the duration of the camp they dedicate themselves to understanding the needs of the children. There is a strong desire to make the camp a very special occasion in the life of each camper. Teachers and staff from Marist College Ashgrove and Mt Alvernia Girls College will always be present to assist wherever needed.
Will there be Medical Facilities?
Yes. Medical facilities of the highest standard are available at the College. Medical care is administered by registered nurses after hours. The college doctor will be on call 24hrs a day should assistance be required. Parents are able to contact their child anytime during the camp should they feel the need.
