Year 9 Business Expo
On Wednesday 24 April, our Year 9 students presented their work at the annual Business Expo. It was fantastic to see the work that the students had produced collaboratively. A big thank you to Ms Donna Watts, the Humanities Instructional Leader, for her organisation of the evening, and to the Year 9 Humanities teachers for their work supporting the students in creating their presentations. Congratulations to the students who were prize winners on the evening as well.
Staff Professional Learning Day
On Friday 26 April, teaching staff participated in Professional Learning. The first part of the day focused on eLearning. Members of staff offered a series of workshops that teachers participated in, according to teacher interest. Thank you to Mr John Powell, the Learning Technology Leader.
During the second half of the day teachers met in their Professional Learning Communities and began the process of documenting their Action Research for the year. Teachers are in one of three Professional Learning Communities: VCE Improvement, Literacy for Learning or Differentiation. Thank you to Ms Marjoleine Dekker and Ms Emma Wray for their facilitation of a Professional Learning Community.
Trial GAT
On Tuesday 30 April, all VCE Unit 3 and 4 and Year 12 VCE VM students undertook a practice General Achievement Task (GAT). The purpose of the practice test was to familiarise students with the requirements of the GAT. The official GAT will take place On Tuesday 18 June. I thank Ms Marjoleine Dekker, Ms Vicky Lazaridis and Ms Julie Carlin for their work making this happen.
