Chev Need to Knows

24 April 2024

Welcome back to Term 2, 2024!

Our Main Office will be closed on Monday 29 April for the Term 2 Staff Retreat day to allow all staff to attend the Retreat.

We look forward to welcoming our students back on Tuesday 30 April. Students are to wear their full winter uniform. At the first bell, students are to leave their bags in the CHED and go straight to the JFC and sit with their Home Room.

Parent Lounge / Parent Orbit App update

Thank you to the vast majority of parents and carers who are using and enjoying our Parent Lounge and Orbit App. Moving into Term 2, all extracurricular information will only be accessible via the Lounge or App, and all permission notes sent via these methods.

IMPORTANT – from Friday 17 May all student absences will need to be provided and approved via the Lounge or App.  If your child is marked absent from school and this absence is unexplained, you will receive a notification in the Parent Orbit App and the Parent Lounge.  SMS will no longer be used from 17 May.

Therefore, all parents/carers need to be signed up to the Parent Lounge or Orbit App.

You can access our troubleshooting guides here: https://www.chevalier.nsw.edu.au/canvas-and-parent-portal/

If you are still having issues, please send an email to office@chevalier.nsw.edu.au.

Expressions of Interest – Extra Curriculum Assistant

Do you have a passion for sports and enjoy collaborating with others?  We are excited to announce we are now taking Expressions of Interest for a casual position (Fridays and Saturdays) from individuals who are eager to assist with game day hospitality as part of the College’s Saturday sports program.  If you thrive in a dynamic environment where problem-solving and teamwork are key, then we would  love to hear from you.  To find out more about this opportunity click here

If you are interested, please forward an Expression of Interest with your resume to office@chevalier.nsw.edu.au

Winter Sports

All training resumes from Tuesday 30 April. With team selections now complete, permission notes are available in the Parent Lounge/App for those students who are in winter sports teams. Please approve your child's participation by Wednesday 1 May. Students who do not have approval via the Lounge/App will not be able to play.

Please note: team training will always proceed despite weather conditions unless otherwise notified by the College. In the case of inclement weather, students will participate in indoor sessions and should come prepared with joggers (not football boots).

Round 1 of competition will begin Saturday 4 May. Click here for the Home and Away Schedule for the season, or log on to the Parent Lounge/App and access the schedule from School Links >> Extra Curricular Links.  You will also be able to access weekly fixtures / bus times from the same location in the Parent Lounge/App.

Show Team - Show Team training will resume Week 3 Term 2.

Mountain Biking - MTB training will cease until late Term 2.  Students should keep an eye on Daily Notices for information on MTB training as it becomes available.
