Reports & 3 Way Interviews
Next week student's semester reports will be available on Compass. Most students will not have a personal comment due to current industrial action. Teachers will be available in the second week of Term 3 for 3-way interviews. This is a good time to discuss your child's progress and celebrate their learning. Bookings for interviews will open next week via Compass.
Leadership Lunch
Last Thursday, our School Captains were invited to attend a special leadership lunch hosted by Brad Battin MP, alongside student leaders from schools across the Berwick electorate.
The event provided a wonderful opportunity for our captains to connect with fellow student leaders, celebrate leadership achievements, and share ideas about making a positive impact within their school communities.
Throughout the lunch, students gained valuable insights into leadership, community service, and the importance of representing the voices of their peers.
They also enjoyed meeting and learning from other young leaders from local schools.
We are incredibly proud of the way our School Captains represented our school and embraced this opportunity to learn, connect, and grow as leaders. We thank Brad Battin for organising this valuable experience for our students.
Koorie Garden Update
This term our Ramlegh Park Koorie students have been busy creating our schools Koorie Garden. The vision for this started in consultation with the students to craft a space that is accessible for all and aims to build reconciliation with our school community.
Here are some photos of our journey so far. Today we started planting some of our indigenous plants that we hope will provide some indigenous tucker for the students to share and experience.
The Common Thread Project
Today we had our last session with our visiting Artist and RMIT Lecturer Dr Ritika Skand Vohra. Dr. Ritika Skand Vohra is an academic and textile artist based in Melbourne. She is a senior lecturer and researcher within the School of Fashion and Textiles at RMIT. We thank Ritika for all that she shared with us; we appreciated her kind and caring approach.
Ritika led our parent participants in connecting to their story through creating a craft art piece which will be stitched together and be on display in the community room. Each participant created a piece of work out of materials provided and got to explore memories they had of stitching with family members growing up.
We look forward to sharing the finished piece soon.
We would also like to thank Sarah Lyons, Senior Education and Audience Engagement Officer at Bunjil Place for partnering with us on this project and creating the connection with Ritika.
We had a lovely last session today and a beautiful lunch thanks to Mr Sukhjinder Singh who donated food from the restaurant Qmin Indian Eatery and Drinks in Elsternwick. It was a lovely coming together of community.
