FROM THE CLASSROOM

TEE BALL DIVISION

'This Wednesday, the tee ball girls went to division. At 9:15, we headed to the green turf and practised throwing a ball before the bus came. Once we arrived at Casey Fields, we played our first match. We won that match and only had a few minutes before play. We had also won our second match and this time had around an hour before the next. Our third match was a very close one, my whole team had thought we lost but turns out we ended up winning it. Our final match was the one that decided whether we would go to regionals or not. In the end the score was ten-zero, and we were going to regionals! Jeel and Daivi were getting a lot of people out, while Scarlet and I (Aliyah) ran for the ball. We are extremely excited and proud of ourselves and are ready for regionals.'

SUP PRESENTATIONS

'During Week 1 and Week 2 Tribes, our SUP leaders(Stand Up Project Leaders) have been going to Tribe groups and talking about what SUP leaders are. We talked about how we can make our school a better place by trying to reduce bullying so people can feel more confident when attending school. As we planned our presentations for weeks, the kids now know what bullying is and the impacts of what bullying can do to the people. We now hope all the kids will be an upstander.'

WHAT WE LEARNED ABOUT IN WRITING - ‘The Compass’ 🧭

'This week in Writing, we were introduced to our new talk for write text “The Compass.” We have been learning the Auslan signs and signing our text while reading it aloud. We practiced our toolkits which were, bring a scene alive using precise detail, ensure word choices earn their place, and use a character's reactions to show the effect of the description. We also began to plan our innovation following the structure of our new text.'

LEARNING INTENTIONS FOR NEXT WEEK

READING

• Students will continue exploring the text Once, with a focus on making inferences, making connections, and summarising key ideas.

WRITING

• Students will write their own innovations as part of the Talk for Writing program, incorporating the writing toolkits and strategies they have learned throughout the term.

MATHEMATICS

• Students will begin exploring length, mass, and capacity. They will learn to measure and compare these attributes and convert between different units of measurement.

WELLBEING

• Students will continue developing their skills in asking for help and supporting others when needed. They will also explore unsafe and antisocial behaviours and discuss strategies for responding appropriately.

REMINDERS  

UNIFORMS

We are still seeing students wearing black pants or shorts to school. A reminder that Ramlegh Park’s uniform is navy blue. With the weather getting colder in the mornings, we also remind families that while white or navy blue sleeves are fine, long black sleeves and hoodies are not to be worn under school uniforms. 

CAMP INFORMATION

Our upcoming school camp at Woorabinda is fast approaching! 

Students have received a packing list and medical/dietary forms. 

Please ensure these are filled out and returned as soon as possible.
