YEAR 3

FROM THE CLASSROOM
Students across Year 3 have been highly engaged in their learning throughout the start of Term 3.
In Writing, they have loved exploring our 'Talk for Write' text about the Cactus Fish. They have learnt how to use generalisers, such as the 'vast majority' and 'rarely', in their writing, as well as how to add unusual and special features to describe their own animal.
In Mathematics, students have been successful in solving subtraction problems involving regrouping. They have particularly enjoyed solving the subtraction of word problems.
In Reading, students have been exploring the text 'How Kids Celebrate Holidays Around the World', with a focus on summarising and asking questions.
In Inquiry, students have been learning about how people celebrate and commemorate different events around the world.
In Wellbeing, we have continued to reflect on respect and what it looks like in the classroom and across our school.
This week, students have particularly enjoyed reflecting on Semester 1 by writing and creating presentations to share with their parents. They loved practicing with their friends and have been excited to share what they have learnt.
